Action taken by students of Grade 1-U

What better than students reflecting on the units of inquiry and acting upon them. It is great to see that the kids are becoming lifelong learners. That, after all, is what we strive for!
Here are some of the student actions on the unit ‘Who we are,’ with the central idea being ‘Resolving conflicts may enable humans to live in harmony.’

MIRAAYA HARKAR
After being introduced to the concept of conflict resolution, Miraaya was able to understand and use words like 'perspective ' in the right sense. She also taught her parents the concept of 'STATA': Stop, Think/ Talk, Ask, Team-up & Agree. In her daily life, she is trying to analyse the situations of conflict & tries to find a peaceful solution to them.

VIVAAN PRAKASH

Vivaan now understands that in case of any disagreement with his friends while playing, it can be resolved peacefully, and tries to resolve such disagreements himself.

SUHANI MITRUKA

One day, when Suhani’s mother and grandmother both wanted to have the last piece of dumpling, Suhani broke it into two halves and gave one to her mother and one to her grandmother, saying that there need not be any conflict.

ANVI DHANUKA

Suhani understands how important it is to resolve conflicts and finds new ways to do it. She also told her parents about the strategy to resolve conflicts - STATA.

 AMYRAH BHATIA

Anytime Amyrah and her mother have a difference of opinion, she says, “that's your perspective and this is mine” and “we should find a middle ground”.
One day she went back from school and started talking about Gautam Buddha and how he taught us to smile and be at peace with each other, especially when we disagree.

RYAN ASHOK NIGAM

Ryan had been interviewing some of his extended family members about their conflicts and resolutions. They have given a feedback that they are very impressed with his knowledge and confidence on the subject.

We are proud of them!
